Albuquerque-based TriCore Reference Laboratories is establishing a branch lab at New Mexico State University to provide local testing for novel coronavirus infection.

TriCore Reference Laboratories, New Mexico’s non-profit clinical laboratory, is pleased to announce the opening of its newest location in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

TriCore Reference Laboratories is proud to announce a collaboration with the Vitalant blood center and New Mexico hospital systems, Lovelace Health System, Presbyterian Healthcare Services, and University of New Mexico Health, to build a community resource of plasma donations from individuals who have recovered from COVID-19

Testing for COVID-19 antibodies will be available at TriCore beginning May 4, 2020.

TriCore Reference Laboratories has increased COVID-19 test capacity once again, adding the ability to test an additional 1000 samples each day, representing a greater than 50% increase.

To meet the needs of our communities, for patient safety, and to optimize valuable personal protective equipment (PPE), TriCore is temporarily consolidating and altering hours of some of our patient care centers, effective April 20, 2020. 

On March 12, TriCore launched the CDC assay for COVID-19 testing, followed by the Abbott m-2000 test on March 23, and added the Diasorin MDx and the Roche Cobas 6800 this week.

TriCore Reference Laboratories announces the addition of the Abbott m2000 platform to increase their COVID-19 testing capabilities. This high-capacity testing instrument doubles TriCore’s previous COVID-19 testing capacity, taking it from 500 to 1000 tests per day.
