TRICORE REFERENCE LABORATORIES
Recognizes Medical Laboratory Professionals Week
ALBUQUERQUE, NEW MEXICO – April 22, 2020 — TriCore Reference Laboratories recognizes Medical Laboratory Professionals Week, April 19-25, 2020. Established by ASCP (American Society of Clinical Pathology), Medical Laboratory Professionals Week is an annual national celebration of medical laboratory professionals and pathologists who play a vital role in healthcare and patient advocacy.
“We recognize Lab Week every year, but it has never been more relevant than during this COVID-19 pandemic when laboratory expertise and rapid turnaround time for testing is crucial. Over 80% of our staff work in the clinical arena, and we collaborate with more than 50 clinical pathologists to deliver state of the art laboratory services to the state of New Mexico. I want to thank each and every one of them for the important work they do every day,” said Dr. Michael Crossey, CEO for TriCore and a clinical pathologist himself.
TriCore’s internal celebrations of the annual event have been postponed to August, due to the current focus on COVID-19, but national recognition will continue throughout the week. In addition to playing a major role in New Mexico’s COVID-19 response, TriCore performs 1 million tests each month for patients all over the state.
