For Immediate Release – October 9, 2018 (Albuquerque, New Mexico) – TriCore Reference Laboratories’ Chief Scientific Officer, Dr. David Grenache, has been named president-elect of the American Association for Clinical Chemistry (AACC) He was named president-elect starting in January 2019. Beginning in August 2020, he will serve a one-year term as president of the association.

The AACC is a global scientific and medical professional organization dedicated to clinical laboratory science and its application to healthcare. The organization is recognized worldwide as an industry leader in education and advocacy, as well as a facilitator for collaboration within the laboratory community. Dr. Grenache has served in various leadership roles for AACC over the years, making him a natural choice to lead the organization. Of the appointment, Dr. Grenache said, “I’m excited and honored to serve as AACC’s president. I intend to use my experience, ideas, and enthusiasm to keep the association and its members at the forefront of laboratory medicine as well as be a strong proponent of encouraging new ways of advancing the practice and understanding of laboratory medicine in all clinical communities.”

"Dr. Grenache has made many contributions. One of those that has had lasting impact has been helping to create the framework for AACC’s Society for Young Clinical Laboratorians (SYCL)," Janet Kreizman, AACC’s CEO, wrote in an email. "SYCL provides AACC members who are under the age of 40 and/or trainees with the crucial professional development, networking and recognition opportunities."

Not only is this an important step for Dr. Grenache and TriCore, but for New Mexico, as well.  As President of AACC, Dr. Grenache will regularly engage in high-profile national and international conversations, bringing visibility to TriCore’s innovative work in New Mexico, demonstrating the laboratory’s unique value to positively impact patient care. This image is not available because: You don’t have the privileges to see it, or it has been removed from the system
