TriCore Welcomes Two New Officers to Its Executive Management Team

 

For Immediate Release – April 13, 2022, Albuquerque, New MexicoTriCore announced that   Dr. Arand Pierce has been appointed Chief Medical Officer and Eric Carbonneau has been named Chief Operating Officer.

In his CMO role Dr. Pierce will facilitate multidisciplinary engagement to ensure innovation, quality, compliance, and safety in the service of TriCore’s organizational vision and strategic goals, with a focus on population health.  “Dr. Pierce stood out from the national CMO candidate pool for his passion for population health and his strong leadership during the COVID-19 pandemic,” says Robin Divine, CEO of TriCore.

Dr. Pierce was previously a vice president of Pathology Associates of Albuquerque and the medical director of Infusion and Apheresis Services for Presbyterian Healthcare Services, which included state-wide coordination and delivery of COVID infusion therapies. He was also the vice chief of pathology at Presbyterian and provided system-wide clinical services in the areas of transfusion medicine and coagulation. Prior to this, Dr. Pierce was the chief of the transfusion medicine service at the Raymond G. Murphy VA Medical Center, where he also provided surgical pathology and laboratory medicine services.  He completed medical school and residency in anatomic and clinical pathology at the University of New Mexico, and a transfusion medicine fellowship at Puget Sound Blood Center.

In his new role as COO, Eric Carbonneau will oversee enterprise laboratory operations and work to effectively grow the TriCore enterprise while ensuring financial strength and operational efficiency.  Ms. Divine comments, “I feel fortunate to be able to promote one of our own, seasoned professionals into the COO role. Eric’s extensive experience and expertise in laboratory operations coupled with demonstrated leadership will be an asset to the executive management team.”

Affiliated with TriCore for over 20 years, Eric Carbonneau has served as Director of TriCore’s laboratory since 2013 and helped establish the TriCore Research Institute in 2015. Eric began his work in laboratory medicine as an emergency room phlebotomist, is a Medical Lab Scientist by training and holds a master’s degree in Health Systems from University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey.
