TRICORE RESEARCH INSTITUTE WELCOMES ELIZABETH DONOVAN, PhD, AS MEDICAL DIRECTOR

 

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – JULY 12, ALBUQUERQUE, NEW MEXICO – Elizabeth Donovan, PhD, joined TriCore Research Institute (TRI) as a Medical Director for Clinical Device Trials. Dr. Donovan has nearly 25 years of experience as a laboratory scientist and in her role, she will engage with new clients and promote the TRI business line in addition to aligning with TriCore’s strategic goals. She is an NRCC board-certified clinical chemist and a New York State DOH-qualified laboratory director.

“Her experience in various clinical settings, and most recently at a large reference laboratory will contribute to TRI’s expansion and help us increase the diversity of studies to be undertaken,” said Veronica I. Luzzi, PhD, D(ABCC), TRI’s Section Chief and Medical Director. “Dr. Donovan’s certification in Clinical Chemistry will help us maintain regulatory compliance and continue delivering quality results for our sponsors.”

Most recently, Dr. Donovan served as a technical director for clinical chemistry, hematology, and esoteric serology at a reference laboratory. She has held various positions in the fields of forensic toxicology, clinical toxicology, clinical microbiology, molecular diagnostics, and quality assurance. Dr. Donovan worked as a medical technologist at a hospital before pursuing her PhD, in Biomedical Sciences, from Okland University. She earned a B.Sc. in Chemistry from the University of South Carolina.

 

Her most recent publishing contributions include:

  • The ADLM-accepted abstract “Validation of umbilical cord blood as an alternate sample type for quantitative in vitro detection of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase in neonates.”
  • The AABB-submitted abstract “Workflow optimization and performance evaluation of the integrated red blood cell antibody identification software IH-AbID.”
