TRICORE REFERENCE LABORATORIES
MAKES CHANGES TO MEET PATIENT CARE NEEDS

ALBUQUERQUE, NEW MEXICO – April 15, 2020 — While TriCore has been at the forefront in the testing for COVID-19, we have seen a change in the number of patients at TriCore’s patient care centers.  Some sites have seen an increase while others have experienced a marked decrease.  To meet the needs of our communities, for patient safety, and to optimize valuable personal protective equipment (PPE), TriCore is temporarily consolidating and altering hours of some of our patient care centers, effective April 20, 2020.  Our patients’ and employees’ safety is of the utmost importance and by employing these changes, we will minimize exposure to the virus and conserve valuable resources.
The pandemic requires that we be flexible in our operations.  Staff from the sites that are temporarily closed will be redeployed when possible to locations where their skills are needed most to maintain our standards of best practice.  “This movement of our valued staff and change of hours at selected locations are necessary to provide the best patient care for New Mexicans where it is needed most,” said Dr. Michael Crossey, TriCore’s CEO.  “TriCore’s staff is supporting the state’s major hospital systems, healthcare providers, and, most important, our patients.  I salute our employees’ flexibility and relentless commitment to providing exceptional patient care.”
We continue to be available for the community, not only for COVID-19 testing, but also for the important medical testing you may require.  As the situation evolves, please look to TriCore.org for the most up-to-date information including any changes in locations or hours.
