ALBUQUERQUE, NM- TriCore Reference Laboratories announced today they were recently awarded accreditation to the ISO 15189 standard under the CAP 15189 Accreditation Program.
The accreditation is based on the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 15189 quality standards for laboratories’ technical competence, management, and continual improvement. “Optimal care and improved patient safety is at the core of everything we do,” said Michael Crossey, MD, and Chief Medical Officer of TriCore Reference Laboratories. “Our professionals strive for constant improvement to better serve our patients and communities.”
“Although the ISO 15189 Standard is not currently mandated in the US, CAP believes laboratories that work toward its implementation have committed resources and ideals to a quality system focused on the needs of the patient,” said William Castelllini, MD, FCAP, Chair of CAP 15189 Committee.
