About TriCore

With roots that extend back 30 years, TriCore Reference Laboratories is a not-for-profit, independent, regional medical reference laboratory providing diagnostic testing for patients and their healthcare providers. In 1998, TriCore merged the hospital laboratories of Presbyterian Healthcare Services and The University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center with The Reference Laboratory to serve clients and patients across New Mexico and the Southwest.

TriCore’s headquarters laboratory and administrative offices are located in a new, state-of-the-art facility, with patient access to specimen collection services available from Patient Care Centers located throughout New Mexico and neighboring states’ service areas. Combining all laboratory, hospital-based and administrative personnel from its various locations, TriCore employs 1,000 people.

TriCore has emerged as a regional laboratory leader, performing a full range of tests — from the routine to the highly esoteric — under the direction of more than 30 pathologists and scientific directors. These experts are available around the clock to provide consultation on difficult cases, analysis of testing options or interpretive assistance.
