Transplantation
TriCore's laboratories offer a broad range of testing services to support transplantation. Our Histocompatibility (HLA) Laboratory provides complete pre-transplant recipient and donor HLA allele testing, antibody screening and identification, and sensitive crossmatching as well as post-transplant antibody monitoring, using state-of-the-art technology for solid organ transplantation. HLA allele identification and engraftment testing are offered to support hematopoietic stem cell transplantation.
TriCore's Toxicology Laboratory performs tests to monitor post-transplant levels of immunosuppressant drugs such as tacrolimus, cyclosporin, and sirolimus, while the Chemistry Laboratory offers 24/7/365 infectious diseases serology testing to check donors' hepatitis A, B, and C and HIV status.
The Infectious Diseases Laboratory provides testing for viruses associated with post-transplant infections, such as BK Virus in kidney transplant patients and Epstein-Barr Virus and cytomegalovirus in solid tissue and bone marrow transplant patients. This laboratory also performs routine cultures to identify other opportunistic pathogens that may be present in post-transplantation infections.
